Abstract: This paper explores the use of Low Code/No Code (LCNC) platforms to integrate Safety Management Systems (SMS) and Quality Management Systems (QMS) in aviation maintenance environments. Although frameworks like ICAO Annex 19 and ISO 9001 exist, Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) organisations still manage safety and quality as separate, siloed processes. This fragmentation leads to inefficiencies, weak audit trails, and limited risk visibility. The proposed solution involves embedding SMS/QMS workflows into LCNC applications that can be configured by non-technical staff, enabling more accessible and scalable compliance. This is particularly beneficial for small- to mid-sized MROs or organisations operating in digitally constrained regions. LCNC platforms will align with ICAO’s four SMS pillars while improving traceability, promoting safety culture, and enabling continuous improvement. Challenges such as validation, cybersecurity, and organisational change are addressed.
